Capacity vs velocity
Capacity is how many focused hours the team has this sprint. Velocity is how many story points the team actually finished in past sprints. Use velocity to decide how much to commit, and capacity to adjust it when people are away. Never compare velocity across teams — points are relative to each team.
The focus factor (typically 60–80%) covers interruptions, support work and context switching. Learn the full framework in Scrum explained.
